Homemaker Life
Being born and raised in the city doesn’t cover much in terms of how to maintain land, raise livestock or how to best handle weeds and rodents when you’re trying your best at holding down a well-kept vegetable garden. Unless you like to learn, so you read. Unless you like to learn, so you ask your Italian grandmother and grandfather “Why do you make it like that?”. My favourite question - 90% met with no positive feedback whatsoever - “Can you show me the recipe?”. (Trick question little lady, there IS no written recipe.)
Growing up, I never thought I’d be typing the words I’m typing now. Typing them now, I feel somehow out of place. But then I think to myself, “ I AM a homemaker. I cannot deny the title and all that it entails to me if that is what I am.” This is my reality as it is happening now, in real time, as you might say. I could have called this “Homemaker In the City”…maybe I’ll use that description somewhere, unless someone is already using it. But then again, I decided to try my hand at sharing and exploring my life as a homemaker in the city because I couldn’t find anything I was looking for to relate to. So here I am, sharing for my own self expression and also to connect with like-minded friendly souls.
Hello!
